Sienna.

a design atelier

An atelier devoted to atmosphere — to the deliberate slowness of warm rooms, aged brass and the long quiet of a house at dusk. Each commission is composed as a frame: an interior, an hour, a quality of light.

The practice, in three movements
Plate 02 · AStill life · burnt oak

We compose interiors as long, slow chapters — pieces of architecture that remember who passed through them.

Sienna is a small atelier devoted to the cinematic register of domestic space. We work in a narrow register — limewashed pigment, aged brass, burnt oak, raw linen — and we work patiently. A commission begins not with a plan but with a question about hour and weather: at what moment of the day should this room reach its quietest pitch?

The studio operates as a single instrument. Architecture, interior, furniture and ornament are drawn by the same hand, in the same week, on the same desk. We do not specialise — we compose. Drawings are kept small; models are kept slow; samples are kept close to candlelight, where the truth of any material is best read.

We do not publish work-in-progress, and we do not chase the feed. What appears here are five frames — a measured edition of what an evening, properly composed, can hold. If they speak to you, the next step is a conversation, not a contract.

Six movements

We work in six unhurried movements — the same sequence each time, composed differently every time.

Chapter III
01

Brief

the listening hour

A long, unhurried conversation. We listen for the room you remember and the room you cannot yet describe.

02

Concept

one image, one word

We propose a single atmosphere — never a moodboard. A photograph, a colour, a line of weather: the seed of the whole.

03

Drawing

plans, sections, light

Architecture, interior and furniture are drawn together by one hand. We test by hand-shadow as often as by software.

04

Material

candlelight, not daylight

Samples are reviewed at dusk. We work in a narrow palette — pigment, brass, oak, linen, glass — until each surface earns its place.

05

Build

small crews, slow hours

We engage a closed circle of craftspeople. Site visits are weekly. Decisions are slow on purpose, so that nothing is undone twice.

06

Sign

the last frame

On completion we photograph the room only once, by lamplight, and leave a small mark on a hidden hinge. The atelier remembers what cannot be repeated.
